My wedding day is fast approaching and I’m excited to share with you some of the intricate details of my bridal looks. Choosing your dream wedding shoes can be an overwhelming task, given that there are so many options available depending on your style and preferences. I’ve put together some tips for choosing your wedding shoes as well as giving you a sneak peek into my three pairs of wedding shoes from Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik. I hope you find these tips helpful!
Wedding Shoe Tips
Before shopping for your wedding shoes, I highly recommend first having your dress or bridal look. This way, you know the style, color, length, and the types of embellishments it will have so your shoes can match or complement the entire ensemble. Even if your dress is quite long, you can show off your shoes while you’re dancing and in your wedding photos. Make sure to choose shoes that make you feel fabulous!
Once you’re ready to find your wedding shoes, a great place to begin your search is online. This way, you can look at what’s available and determine the style of shoes you like and don’t like. My personal favorite brands are Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik for wedding heels, however there are many other gorgeous options from brands like Aquazzura, Miu Miu, Christian Louboutin, and Gianvito Rossi. From there, you can create a Pinterest board for your bridal look and go in store to try the shoes on. If you do end up finding your shoes online, just make sure to check the returns policy in case you need to swap sizes or styles.
Choose a heel height that is comfortable for you to stand and dance in all day and night and try your best to get your wedding shoes before you have your wedding dress fitting. This will allow the tailor to make the necessary adjustments to your hem so the length is just right, this will save you from having to get your dress altered a second time. Because let’s face it, you probably have your hands full with wedding planning!
When choosing the look of your wedding shoes, consider your wedding venue. Are you having an outdoor wedding, is it in a ballroom? This will help you determine the appropriate heel type. Then once you have your shoes, wear them in before the big day to make sure they’re comfortable. I recommend walking in them around the house on the carpet. While doing this, take note of any rubbing or slipping, you can purchase insoles if needed. It’s also a bit of fun to walk around the house in some eye candy to get a glimpse into how you will feel on your big day.
My last tip is to pack a footwear kit, bring band-aids, gel inserts and anything else you may need along with your bridal survival kit, so you won’t need to stress or have sore feet on the day. I’m sure your bridesmaids will have it covered, but just in case.
Rehearsal Dinner
Now for the big reveal, for my rehearsal dinner the night before my wedding, I am pairing my look with Manolo Blahnik White Leather Pumps with the classic Hangisi Jewel Buckle. They are so sophisticated and classy, and I love that I will also be able to wear them after my wedding with dresses and even to amp up a jeans and tee look. I think it will be a beautiful idea to wear these on my wedding anniversaries for a sentimental feel to my outfits.
Wedding Ceremony
I can hardly contain my excitement about this pair. For the wedding ceremony, I have a custom-made pair of Jimmy Choo Avril Pumps which are covered in crystals. I am going to have my Cinderella glass slipper moment with my traditional red legeha, what true dreams are made of. The Swarovski crystals are exquisite and will make a statement with my ceremony look. I feel like these are going to create some buzz!
Wedding Reception
Then at my wedding reception, I will have a dress change and will be dancing the night away in a pair of Jimmy Choo Thyra 100 heels. They feature pavè crystals and a beautiful delicate bow detail that is so me. These beauties round out my dream three pairs of wedding shoes.
Which of my wedding shoes is your favorite? Which style of wedding shoe would you choose?
